How to Handle an EHO Who’s Having a Bad Day
Some officers walk in already looking for problems. Arguing makes it worse.
The script that works every single time:
– Greet them cheerfully and offer a drink. – Ask “Is there anything in particular you’d like to focus on today?” – Hand over the tablet/phone and let them scroll themselves (people are always gentler when they control the screen). – If they point out something minor, say “Thank you, I’ll fix that right now” and do it in front of them.
Perfect digital records + polite cooperation turns even the grumpiest inspector into “Well, everything seems in order here” in under 20 minutes. We’ve watched it happen hundreds of times.
